I have herd that Dairy Queen, Harkins theater, and Mcdonalds hire but because of the economy it will be harder to find a job, and if you do find a job you can only work for up to 8 hours a day and 18 hours a week and you will probably get paid less then adults too.

Find a Boys and Girls Club. They hire junior staff at 14 sometimes. Plus it's the easiest effin job you will ever have :D other than KFC and the Fish expert at walmart

About What animal shelter in Scottsdale,AZ allows a 14 year-old to do volunteer work

What animal shelter in Scottsdale,AZ allows a 14 year-old to do volunteer work?
I really love animals and I want to stay busy this summer. I know there is some way I can help and I hate sitting at home. I really want to help out at an animal shelter because i want to encounter the different animals. I want to become a vet when i get older so I want to be prepared. Thanks for the help! :)

None, unfortunately. I looked into this awhile ago when I was your age. I live in the Phoenix area. There are laws in Arizona which states you cannot volunteer unless you're 16 years of age. Liability reasons. If you find some rescue groups that are small and need some help, SOME may allow you to as long as your parent is there with you every second. I suggest you find another way to work with animals!

Glad you want to get involved, but without an adult to go with you, I don't think you will find any shelters that will take the liability of having a 14 year old volunteer.

I looked up shelters in your area but so far you need to be 18. You may be able to help with a dog/pet rescue group at adoption events. Contact the ones on this list and ask if you can help: http://www.petfinder.com/awo/index.cgi?location=Scottsdale%2C+AZ&keyword=

For most shelters, you have to be 16+ to volunteer without a parent. Some are 18. You could have your parents go with you on the weekends! Most shelters need the help and would be lucky to have you.
