for breakfast i'd suggest a Glendale location such as Parsons family restaurant on northern and 59th. ave. For lunch a fast food place like Jack in the Box or ? Dinner a popular place would be Applebees,Denny's, Village inn or maybe some place more expensive would be "Tarbells" on camelback & 32nd. str.
2 :
Try Don and Charley's in Scottsdale on Camelback Road.

You could become a team lead, supervisor, scheduler or trainer. It depends on what you prefer. Training departments work well for those who don't like to supervise others..

About Does anyone in Scottsdale, AZ know of a hotel that is good for a wild party, that won't "kick" anyone out

Does anyone in Scottsdale, AZ know of a hotel that is good for a wild party, that won't "kick" anyone out?
I am planning a party for my friends that are coming into town and my apartment will not work, because we haven't seen each other for a long time, so I know we will get wild. So I am looking for suggestions if anyone knows of any good places in Scottsdale, AZ. Also, if anyone knows of any male strip clubs or where I can get a male stripper for this party, it's all girls...PLEASE HELP!

last year we stayed at the hotel indigo. it's very hip and real close to all the popular nightclubs. we told the front desk that we were going to be partying all night, so they were nice enough to put us in rooms that were in a different wing than others where it was more vacant. we left all the doors to our rooms opened and just partied from room to room with no complaints. you can also try mondrian or valley ho. good luck and have fun!
2 :
I would suggest Valley Ho. They're very close to all the Old Town clubs & bars, and you can stay in one of the buildings that only has two stories so that there's less people around to bother. As for strippers? No idea. Personally, I don't think male strippers are one bit interesting nor exciting. I'd rather spend the money on a funny midget and a case of beer: at least I'd get a good laugh out of it! Have fun, and don't get arrested.... that always ruins the party.
3 :
FOUR SEASONS RESORT SCOTTSDALE. Just give a tip and ask for back rooms. Money talks.

Go to a bar then.
2 :
Hit old town or get over to Mill in Tempe. Plenty of options for you to have a drink and party a bit in both locations.
3 :
There are a LOT of fun bars in Scottsdale. If you like to dance, I would recommend Club Myst. If you like live bands, I would recommend Sugar Daddys.
4 :
Gilligan's bar!!! in old town theres about 1/2 dozen bars in walkin distant..

Take your local paper or we have a weekly public sales paper that people put ads in all the time and most of the time you can find cheap stuff there
3 :
You can also go to some of the stores websites. I found a cheap treadmill online once at the Walmart website. Even with shipping and handling...it was still cheaper than the stores. Alot of stores have online shopping...walmart even has "site to store" shipping in most cases...and that's free. You could go to www.freecycle.org in you computer...it's a website that people list what they don't want anymore and are giving away for free. It's a yahoo website.

Craigslist.

I would go online and yahoo search, "used workout equipment" Usually the online classified like Craigslist and Kijiji are where I look. About Is it illegal for a small business owner in Arizona to not pay overtime if I work more then 40 hours a week

Is it illegal for a small business owner in Arizona to not pay overtime if I work more then 40 hours a week?
My boss (a small business owner in Scottsdale) fired me because I didnt want to work 12 hour days. I told him that I didnt want to work that much because I would end up working more then 40 hours this week and he doesnt pay OT. He specifically told me that he wont pay overtime.
Other - Careers & Employment - 3 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
If it's a salaried position, there is no "overtime" - you get the same salary regardless. For some agricultural jobs, overtime is also not required to pay at "overtime wages" (generally time and a half). However, even then, if you work 60 hours, you get paid for 60 hours. NOT paying for hours worked is illegal and if he's really doing this, he is breaking several labor laws.
2 :
By Federal law, any employer must pay overtime for any hours in excess of 40 in a week.
3 :
At minimum, federal law requires any non-exempt employee who works over 40 hours in a seven day schedule be paid overtime at a minimum rate of time-and-a-half. However, if what your employee is asking you to do is work 3 x 12 hour days and one 4 hour day, that would be a legal 40 hour week. If your employer is asking you to work 5 x 12 hour days in a standard work week, he is legally required to pay you OT. If you work this and are not paid the overtime you then request the overtime, in writing from your employer. If he refuses to pay, you file a wage claim with the AZ state labor agency. However, you can't file this claim until the infraction occurs. So, that means if your boss wants you to work 12 hour days and you refuse, they could legally fire you. YOu need to also understand that your employer may have a "nonstandard" pay week. It's common in restaurants where the bulk of business happens on the weekends. The beginning of the pay week can fall on any day of the week and run for seven consecutive days.

Sometimes having some integrity about where you work is better for your personal development. I've never worked for them, but read the reviews online. There's no way that I would ever work for a company that has 0 satisfied customers. You could always apply at American Express, great company, great pay, and a huge development opportunity.

About Where is a good area to live in Phoenix Metro area

Where is a good area to live in Phoenix Metro area?
I am a recent ASU grad and I 'm looking to move out of Tempe. I work in North Scottsdale, but I cannot afford to live there. I may be attending ASU West in the fall, so I want to move somewhere not too far from the 2 areas. I grew up around 35th and Union Hills, so I want to avoid getting too close to there. I am looking for a change. I also want it to be a safe, fun, affordable area, with other young people (not necassarily all young like Tempe!). Any suggestions?

Try the area around 40th st. and Bell Road. Some nice apartment complexes back in that area. You can hop on Greenway and be to the school in just a few minutes. In the other direction not too far is the night life of North Scottsdale. Good news is that the area is both affordable, and safe. Just remember. Home is where the heart is, so be careful you don't trip on the pulmonary arteries by the coffee table.

About I am looking for major resorts in Portland Oregon for work

I am looking for major resorts in Portland Oregon for work?
I am trying to find some major resorts in the Portland, Mt Hood areas. I want to move to oregon and work there. I am a student at Scottsdale Culinary Institute and want to extern somewhere in Oregon. Any help possible would be greatly appreciated.
Portland - 3 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
There are none. Timberline isn't like a major resort. Mt. Hood has small resorts. Mainly everyone rents houses and cabins up there. Even time shares. That area isn't made for the fluffs who need the catering.
2 :
Major resorts would be more towards the Bend area. Black Butte is one. Bandon is also a pretty major resort, but it's a golf resort, not a spa resort. Skamania is fairly large, Bonneville is too, and there are tons up & down the coast, but none are what I'd consider to be on calibur with Ventana Canyon or the Fairmont Scottsdale.
3 :
There are no megaresorts in Oregon—and that's the way we want it. As for culinary externships, you should be aware that Oregon has three culinary schools—Le Cordon Bleu, Oregon Culinary Institute, and The Art Institutes—with hundreds of students trying to do the same thing every term. However, there is no shortage of opportunity as Portland has the highest number of restaurants per capita in the U.S., or maybe the world, according to an in-flight magazine I read years ago. Here are MobilTravel's top-rated restaurants: http://mobiltravelguide.howstuffworks.com/portland-or-restaurants-list.htm?sortc=rating&sortd=desc&minRating=0 And here are Frommer's top rated: http://www.frommers.com/destinations/oregon/2529020003.html

About Which town in Phoenix is a good area to live in

Which town in Phoenix is a good area to live in?
I live in NJ right now, and I'm making plans to moving to Phoenix. But I've been hearing that each town has good housing as far as apartments to live in, such as Goodyear, Tempe, Mesa, Chandler, or Scottsdale. I work for Dell as a System Engineer, and an IT job down there would be great. So which town has the best community, cheap housing, places to shop; malls, groceries, etc.? And is the job market getting better in certain areas?
Phoenix - 5 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
I live near Chandler and recommend it highly. There is a mall surrounded by restaurants and movie theaters. Transportation is excellent and there are many houses for sale, which could provide good value.
2 :
Just go to Monster.com and checkout the job openings in the cities you listed. Yes the job market is getting better. I have a personal preference for Goodyear, Buckeye and Verrado only because I like the openess of the west valley. If you could find work on the westside of Phoenix in your field that would be great. There are more hi-tech jobs in the east valley in Tempe, Mesa, Chandler and Scottsdale and you would not enjoy the commute from the westside to the eastside. It would be a slow bumper-to-bumper drive. Now housing prices on the westside are great. After selling my property in California and moving here in 2007 I have chosen to rent. I have a 2000+ sqft house 4/2 with a 2 car attached garage built in 2004 for well under $1000/mo. in a nice area. In Goodyear you can live in a new 2500 sqft house in a gated community with your own pool for less than $1500. Anywhere you pick in the valley can provide you with a nice apartment, but keep in mind that a house is only a few hundred dollars a month more. The east valley offers more nightlife. That's partially because of the presence of ASU in Tempe. This school has over 60,000 students enrolled and obviously the business entities in the valley see them as a good revenue source and build their youth oriented businesses nearby. Shopping is also better on the eastside. More stores and more choices. One thing I find funny is that the incursion of big-box stores is common throughout the valley. Even Cave Creek. a segment of north Phoenix, has just voted to allow a Super Wal Mart in. This store will draw Scottsdale residents as well. I was going to buy a restaurant in Chandler last year until I saw several of the box-chains starting to build just down the street. People only have so much disposable income and these chains are hard go up against in the long run. Regular grocery shopping is available anywhere you choose to live. The bigger grocery stores here are Wal Mart, Fry's, Safeway, Albertson's and Basha's' Two types of good food here that are hard to find are Italian and to my amazement Mexican. So before you come to Arizona grab a couple of large pizzas to go.
3 :
Well, I'm only familiar with Goodyear, Tempe, and Scottsdale. Goodyear has an abundance of low-priced homes because it is a fairly new city. Although, it has less of the "homey" feel to its environs because the city centers are all concrete, industrial-sized buildings. Also, I do not yet know of a home in Goodyear that is not in the suburbs, so if you're that type of suburban fellow, then great. Lovely cotton fields, too. Oh, and it is about a half an hour drive away from Phoenix on a good day. Tempe is a college town (ASU). Therefore, it has a hip, bustling mood to it and you'll see a lot of young men and women. A major plus to this city is it's unique shops and bookstores. The most popular shopping center here is the Tempe Marketplace, which is where the last X-Men movie premiered last year. :) Scottsdale is known as the place where some of the most wealthy individuals in Arizona come to live. If you can afford a home here, it is beautiful. Close to the Camelback Mountains, you can usually look out a window and see the purple mountains majesty closer than many. There are lots of shops here, most common is the Scottsdale Fashion Square. A very uptown kind of place to shop. I'm trying not to stereotype anyone but I must say that the common preconception of those who live in Scottsdale is snotty and privileged. Also, you'll find great grocery stores here like Whole Foods, Trader Joe's (an Arizona natural foods store), AJ's (a fine foods store with gourmet wines, cheeses, pastries, so on) as well as the usual Wal-Mart and local grocery stores.
4 :
I love Gilbert and it was named safest city in Az. Lived here 6 months. moved here from Mesa, East mesa which is close by and that also is a good area. Gilbert is average, I think as far as price.
5 :
Well each person is going to suggest thier own city. I live in mesa, it has many malls lots of grocery stores and housing varys greatly. There are multimillion dollar houses in some areas and cheaper houses in others. Dobson Ranch is a master plan community (gigantic) it offers houses in the 100's-200's The schools are excellent. I don't know if you have kids. All parts phoenix are connected by freeways. Tempe is basically asu there is very few areas not dominated by the massive collage. Although Tempe has many attractions. Such as the tempe town lake. Mill ave. and Tempe marketplace. Scottdale is a rich area on the mountainside. But it has great food and shopping Chandler and Gilbert are very suburban residential cities. They have good schools and luxurious landscapes. Where ever the Dell plant is may have an impact.

Where's the best neighborhood in scottsdale to live if you are new to town and single? Safe, but lots of fun
stuff to do and walking distance to shops, etc. I work in Northern Scottsdale.
Phoenix - 2 Answers

I think that the best areas would either be in South Scottsdale, which is also called Old Town or the Kierland area of North Scottsdale. Old town has a ton of shops, bars, restaurants and clubs in a pretty close proximity as well as a lot of less expensive rental properties. It is not quite as safe as North Scottsdale but it is no ghetto either. I would say this is a good option for someone looking for fun and affordable. North Scottsdale has the Kierland area that contains shopping, restaurants and bars, but is pretty upscale and pricey. It is definitely safe and a lot of fun if you can hack the expense. There are a few rental properties and I believe that they are called "tradition" or something to that effect right in this area. Basically the address would be greenway-hayden. The westin is right off of this area as well so you have a nice resort nearby to lounge at if you wanted.
2 :
anywhere close to old town Scottsdale, they're building a bunch of new apartments and condo's near there.

1. No. 2. Even if you could, you'd have to subtract 2% of your AGI *and* be able to itemize in order for a business deduction to do you any good.
2 :
No ,they can't. Only uniform items that can only be worn for your job. You can't write off a suit and tie (even if you don't wear them outside of work). You also can;t write off sunglasses, bathing suits, etc.
3 :
Prescription sunglasses can be deducted as a medical expense (provided that you actually need prescription glasses and are not just getting them for tax reasons). There is no employee business expense deduction for items that can be worn both when working and when not working, such as wristwatches or clothing (except for safety equipment and those uniforms that cannot be worn away from work), even if these items are required.

None, unfortunately. I looked into this awhile ago when I was your age. I live in the Phoenix area. There are laws in Arizona which states you cannot volunteer unless you're 16 years of age. Liability reasons. If you find some rescue groups that are small and need some help, SOME may allow you to as long as your parent is there with you every second. I suggest you find another way to work with animals!
2 :
Glad you want to get involved, but without an adult to go with you, I don't think you will find any shelters that will take the liability of having a 14 year old volunteer.
3 :
I looked up shelters in your area but so far you need to be 18. You may be able to help with a dog/pet rescue group at adoption events. Contact the ones on this list and ask if you can help: http://www.petfinder.com/awo/index.cgi?location=Scottsdale%2C+AZ&keyword=
4 :
For most shelters, you have to be 16+ to volunteer without a parent. Some are 18. You could have your parents go with you on the weekends! Most shelters need the help and would be lucky to have you.

Probably Old Town Scottsdale would fit what you are looking for, there are a ton of busy bars there. http://recreationspotsaz.com/scottsdalerestaurants.html
2 :
You can see the list at - http://www.zirana.com/AZ_scottsdale/bars_night_life/ Call them to check salary / benefits etc.
3 :
Scottsdale is definitely a great place to live and has a good nighlife, there are a ton of Sports Bars there too. Look at an online yelow pages, you can see a list of bars that could be an option. I would just go and apply to as many as possible from there! Some places that are nice are Bar North or Joes Place both on Scottsdale Rd : >
4 :
good luck! finding a good bar tending or serving job here is very difficult right now. You will need to get a maricopa county food handlers card. Im not sure where you live but there is an office on baseline and alma school, where you can take the test and get the card. You also need to be arizona liquor board certified. Most restaurants and bars will provide you with the information you need to obtain this certifying. You legally have up to 30 days after hire to produce these documents. Just remember that there is over a 20% unemployment rate here in the valley of the sun, so most places are not doing so well and its only going to get worse as summer comes. Go high end, those Establishments are above the recession. Peace and good luck!
